ABOUT ME

Kassi Kipling Headshot

My name is Kassi Kipling and I have been a resident of Sugarcreek Township for the past 6 years. I grew up in Southwest Ohio and graduated from Edgewood High School. I knew that I wanted my children to have a better education than what I received growing up, which is why my husband and I chose to settle in Sugarcreek Township. Bellbrook checked all the boxes on my list for school size, academic excellence, and community. I have three amazing kids that all currently attend Bellbrook Schools (2nd, 4th, and 6th grade).

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Mark, for the past 13 years and could not imagine a better partner to navigate this crazy life with. Lately, I have really been leaning into my role as a soccer mom. All three of my kids are playing Bellbrook Fusion Soccer and I am the team manager for two of their teams, while my husband coaches our daughter’s team. In the soccer off season all of my children have played basketball for the Bellbrook Lions Club and my 4th grader played basketball for the Wee Eagles program and plans to play again this year.

I have a Master of Science Degree in Physics, and like most physicists in this area, all of my jobs have primarily been engineering. I am currently the Chief Engineer for the Geospatial Intelligence Acquisitions Branch of AFLCMC. Essentially, I am a technical expert for the development of various types of intelligence sensors and I lead a team of more than 20 engineers. This position requires me to think strategically on a daily basis while working to execute the mission within the budgetary constraints. I have a proven track record of having strong leadership and the ability to unite teams.

Prior to AFLCMC, I also spent several years working as an Intelligence Analyst at WPAFB. This is where my love for data comes in and really vetting all sources that come my way. I am very much a numbers person and am a trust but verify type of gal. If you can’t prove to me how you got to your answer then you don’t really understand how you reached your conclusion.

Overall, I have been a Civil Servant for over 7 years. Prior to becoming a federal employee I spent 6 (and some change) years working as a defense contractor at WPAFB. I have been on both sides of the fence and understand how bureaucratic red tape tends to get in the way of progress.

In addition to working at WPAFB, I have also been a physics instructor at Sinclair Community College and have also taught a full year of Astronomy courses while working towards my graduate degree.

One of my biggest core values is integrity. At the end of the day, I have to be comfortable looking in the eyes of the person staring back at me in the mirror. You will know exactly where I stand on any given topic. I may tell you from time to time that I need to do more research before I form my opinion but that is because I do not want to jump to conclusions without having all of the information.

I recognize that I may not always have it right, and I am willing to change my stance if the data supports it. I believe there is merit to both sides of an argument and there isn’t a situation where we can’t find middle ground. I am passionate about many topics and I know there is much passion in the community. Let’s use that passion to forge new relationships built on compromise that bring the community together. I firmly believe in majority rule but minority rights. I want to ensure that all of those individuals in the minority feel that their voices are more than just heard but also valued.
